BLOND AND BLACK OINTEMENTS
Regular
maintainance and care for hooves
Equicure ointments have been formulated for regular
maintainance and care for hooves. The blond ointment
is for hooves with normal to hard horn and the
black ointment is recommended for hooves with
normal to soft horn.
To cater for different types of hoof, the formulas
of our ointments have been developed and adapted
to the different types of horse's horn.
The formulas of these ointments are made from
natural oils, rich in poly-unsaturated fatty acids,
lanolin and other moisturizing compounds. For
more performance, our formulas are enriched with
vitamins A, D3, E, Omega 3 and 6.
The black ointment also contains Norwegian pine
tar.

Oméga-3
and -6
Omega 3 and 6 are
essential fatty acids : they cannot
be synthesized by the body. They
are also named Vtamine F.
 By
improving the cell cohesion, Omega-3
are involved in the maintenance
of the cutaneus barrier. Omega-3
thus allows hoof to fight against
dryness.
Omega-6 helps hooves
to be healthy.
Omega-3 and -6
improve also the keratin formation
(keratin is the major constituant
of hooves horn).

Healthy
hooves
Hooves have to be strenght
and flexible.
Hoof moisture is involved
in the supleness of the horn. In healthy
hoof, major part of moisture is produced
by the tissue inside the hoof. But ...
Today, domestic horse's
foot tend to dry out. Environmental conditions
decrease the efficiency of the natural protective
barrier of the hoof.

the moisture content of the hoof at its
natural level
In dry wheather, use of
ointments should be more frequent.

How
should EQUICURE ointments be used?

On clean, dry hooves: apply with a brush
on the wall, the sole, the frog, and bars.

Recommended application: 3 times per week
and more if necessary.
If cracks appear, the application of Equicure
S is recommended on the coronary band.
